What do you want to accomplish with your GAME volunteerism?
I would like to work with an international team in research in the field of continuous professional development. I look forward to contributing to teaching and learning in courses and training conducted by GAME as well as organizing and preparing local and international conferences. My goals also include starting a podcast in medical education, building a hub of medical educators and improving leadership in my medical education career.
Please describe your current role at your company.
As the Director of Trainee Affairs Department at Oman Medical Specialty Board, I am responsible for developing operational plans and policies related to trainees’ affairs and ensuring their proper implementation. I oversee the adherence of all medical training institutions in Oman to OMSB processes and procedures concerning training doctors. Additionally, I am in charge of developing the yearly calendar for new trainee applications, interviews, acceptances, and registrations, and continuously improving screening procedures to ensure a high calibre of trainees and equal opportunities.
My role also involves maintaining a comprehensive database of physicians in training, monitoring their performance, and supervising cases referred to the Counselling and Guidance section. Moreover, I am responsible for preparing and implementing the department’s five-year development plan, strategic plan, quality assurance, and annual performance reports.
Through effective leadership and guidance, I strive to improve workflow in the Trainee Affairs Department and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Why did you join GAME?

What would you tell other professionals who are just joining the CPD profession and starting their careers?
Having a clear vision of the area in which one would like to contribute to the workplace will help in determining the direction to take. Supporting one’s interest and enthusiasm with knowledge and education, possibly a Master’s degree, provides a solid staring point from which one can grow in the field. Research projects, be they simple database analytics, quality audits or others will further their contribution to the field.
